PNUMA TRIO

Dynamic, scene-setting electronica youngsters The Pnuma Trio have been known for their forward-thinking compositions and moving, powerful improvisations since their explosion onto the scene in 2004. Not so young anymore, Ben Hazelgrove, Alex Botwin, and Lane Shaw are proud to call STS9's very hot 1320 Records their new home as they release their debut studio album, 'Character'. With a refined, glitch-informed electro/hip-hop feel and all the dynamic energy of their DJ-killing live show, this new album represents a significantly evolved version of Pnuma's futuristic sound; tighter, more focused, and higher resolution. The long synth solos have been replaced by careful layering; instead of building each song to it's climax the band percolates on hot remixed urban ideas, letting the production create the spacious atmosphere. Self-produced by the band and sporting a special bonus track that features Crown City Rockers MC Rashaan Ahmad, 'Character' is ready to take the scene by storm with it's vast, open feel and deep 808-driven grooves.

BLVD

Having just wrapped up recording their 5th studio album with critically-acclaimed producer Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, Fischerspooner, The Black Keys), BLVD continued it's blitz of the North American festival circuit. The band rocked the Shambhala Music Festival in British Columbia before finishing the summer with a headlining slot at Earthdance Festival's hub event. Other highlights included playing the Do Lab's Coachella Festival installation, Camp Bisco, Summer Meltdown, and a headlining set at New York City's Bowery Ballroom. Following a West Coast run with The Disco Biscuits this November, BLVD is excited to be ushering in 2010 internationally on the tropical island paradise of Fiji, and followed by an extensive January tour of Australia.

BLVD has created a style that is winning people over from coast to coast. Coupling groove-driven instrumentals with life-affirming vocals, the band’s sound is equally at home in live music venues and dance clubs. 2008’s full-length Music for People earned the band respect from critics, with select tracks being heard on both Fuel Television and MTV, as well as on promotional websites for Victoria's Secret, AOL, and CBS. BLVD’s live show is a fusion of electronic soundscapes and live instrumentation, featuring drummer Dylan McIntosh, electric guitarist Curtis Sloane, and bass / synth player Tripp Bains. Completing the quartet is charismatic front-man Souleye, who opens hearts and minds alike with his unique blend of vocal styling and lyrical substance. Unpredictable live performances can include rock instrumentals, innovative vocal mash-ups of the band's influences, and live/electronic arrangements drawing on influences from many genres. BLVD's sound doesn't lend itself to typical classifications, and their work is a great representation of our current musical landscape.

EOTO

Jason Hann and Michael Travis (percussionist and drummer from the band The String Cheese Incident) make up this 100% improvised live Breakbeat/ House/ Drum n Bass/ Trip Hop project. Drawing from the ethos of some of the great DJ's and computer artists of the world, they use cutting edge technology to create truly original and melodic dance music in the moment, with the undeniable power of live drums. The music is all created on the spot, recorded, then mixed and remixed LIVE to create an ever evolving musical experience. Since the project is 100% improvised, every night promises to be a unique dance experience. Hann and Travis play different roles in this band than in SCI. Jason plays the drum kit, percussion and sampler, while Travis is in charge of the tonal elements, playing bass, guitar, keyboards, as well as hand percussion and live mixing.

BOOMBOX

BoomBox is Producer/Engineer/DJ/Drummer Russ Randolph and Pro- ducer/DJ/Vocalist/Guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux. This pair of dynamic artists uses their rich musical history and their vision of music and popular culture to deliver a style of music distinctly different from anything heard or seen in music today. This signature sound and show brings live music to a new, elevated level. BoomBox evolved through the common visualization of a pair of forward thinking artists from diverse musical back- grounds. Raised by supportive and musically inclined parents, both Godchaux and Randolph had an obsession with music at very young ages. Godchaux, who grew up with deeply embedded rock and roll roots, began playing drums at the age of two, and played guitar and wrote his own songs as a teen. During the 90s, Godchaux was a well- received touring DJ based out of the San Francisco area. Randolph began as a young drummer, but it's what was happening behind the scenes that attracted him most. As much producers as they are musicians, it is Randolph's understanding of soundscape and Godchaux's knack for songwriting that keeps BoomBox resonating at higher levels.

TELEPATH

Music is a collective language. It can bring a sense of community among strangers, regardless of language, nationality, or beliefs. It can provide the listener an environment for creative thought and unrestrained emotion. It can manifest the beauty of people and cultures who may be thousands of miles apart. The music of Telepath strives to do all of this. Formed in 2006 and hailing from Philadelphia PA via Asheville NC, Telepath is a unique new expression in the current live and electronic music scenes. The 3-piece comprised of Michael Christie (keyboards), Curt Heiny (bass) and Mike B (drums) use a wide variety of self-created samples containing Indian and Arabic singers and musicians, Afrobeat-influenced horn lines, dubbed-out effects, and much more to generate the multi-layered sound that is Telepath. Extensively touring in support of their debut album Fire One (2006), Telepath has played to passionate audiences at theaters, clubs, and festivals around the country. Now, with the September 2008 release of their second album Contact, Telepath continues the development of a loyal and ever-growing fan base, as well as their commitment to creating a positive and inspiring environment both on record, and in live performance.

RANDOM RAB

Emerging from his own distinct corner of the West Coast electronic music scene, Random Rab offers a powerful, timeless contribution to sonic exploration. Rab is a master of manipulating our temporal awareness, leading us into seemingly ancient worlds, where to our amazement, we find visible shreds of the future. Allow his sound to catalyze your travels into haunting ecstasy, and you will not return to your same beginning. Playing only his own originally produced music live, the depth and craftsmanship of this offering is remarkable. With an array of drum machines, samplers, sequencers, and instruments, it is a clear devotion to expression and perfection. The beats are smooth, bold, and overwhelming. The original vocals, melodies and hitting bass merge seamlessly into a tapestry of unique and unexpected journeys

VIBESQUAD

VibeSquad is the multi-personality brainchild of Aaron Holstein. With releases on NativeState, Proboscis, Interchill, Muti, and Sonic Dragon (Hong Kong) in 2007 alone VibeSquad is quickly emerging as a top producer in the west coast US electronic music scene. Both 2007 EPs "Return of The Pudding People" & "Songs to Accompany Dance Move: The Worm" have been making there way around the globe showing up in DJ's sets and causing serious mayhem on dancefloors. Though his legendary live sets may cause whiplash and heart attacks in the unsuspecting bystander, those prepared to launch get much more than they bargained for. Aaron's music defies typical genre-labels and covers tempos from slow 'n hard lowriding krunkadelics to mid-tempo barnstormers all in a seamlessly flowing soulful mash- dirty and beautiful as life itself. Aaron also plays bass/keys for the bands ZILLA (w/ Michael Travis & Jamie Janover) & SPORQUE (w/Ooah & Jamie Janover)

ANA SIA

Ana Sia's love of electronic music combined with an innate understanding of the value of dance to the human soul collectively fuse to create unforgettable sets of experience, whether she is slamming spots in her hometown of San Francisco or taking her turn in the forests of music festivals around the country. Ana's energetic delivery of brain-fazing beats has earned the Princess Slay-ah an important spot in pioneering the West Coast future sound movement. She will take you on a musical expedition into the deepest reaches of your brain, as she masterfully blends a wide spectrum of rhythms with a beautiful fluidity and a delicate sensibility, giving the dance floor a delightful ride that ends at the corner of bliss and oblivion. Uniting the best elements of dirty dubstep, grimy glitch, and her personalized blend of "global slut psy-hop," Ana Sia's sets confirm crunk status of all who dare enter into her seamless world of sound.

The Organic Collective is a crew of musicians from Southern California, transplanted to Vashon Island, WA in the summer of 2008. CORBIN DOOLEY

For the past fifteen years, Corbin Dooley has made his mark DJing, producing and championing music on many levels. An internship working with The Smiths at London's Rough Trade Records in 1987 inspired him to take the programming reins of Wake Forest University's college radio station WAKE. A subsequent move to New York upon graduation led to a job working with Run-DMC at Profile Records. In 1989, Dooley migrated to TVT Records to join forces with then-unknown Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). The chance to work with Blur, Jesus Jones, & Jeffrey Gaines led Dooley to SBK/EMI Records in 1991.

In 1995 Corbin debuted his own label, which released over thirty singles & albums in the next three years. Dooley concurrently expanded into radio as an on air personality for San Diego’s modern rock station 91X. By early 2000, Dooley was DJing at numerous social events and venues, including New York's Palace, the Puck Building, and Sky Studios. His DJ sets are fueled by high-energy performances that contain a mix of current favorites across many genres of music.

In 2001, Dooley premiered his new venture, Bikiniwax, Inc., with a vision of music for the modern lifestyle – to release eclectic recordings, and provide unique management and booking strategies for his family of artists.

After a family relocation to Tucson, Corbin partnered to open the Level Lounge in 2006, where he DJ’d regularly, and served as Music Director. In the past year he founded Tucson’s newest downtown lounge, Centro. Dooley donates his time weekly as a DJ on KXCI 91.3 FM, serves as the station’s RPM Director, runs the daily operations of Bikiniwax, and concurrently produces various music events in Arizona.
